Terms of Service

Last updated: September 11, 2026

Operator and scope

These terms govern your use of Skratchpad, operated by Alexander Jacobsen. Contact alexmj044@gmail.com with service, support, or account questions. By creating an account or using Skratchpad, you agree to these terms. If you use the service on behalf of an organization, you must have authority to do so.

The service

Skratchpad lets you connect an agent to a workspace, request deployments on supported providers, and manage or claim the resulting resources where supported. Vercel is currently the deployment provider. Features, capacity limits, provider availability, and claim eligibility may change. Skratchpad is an early-stage service and does not promise uninterrupted availability or successful completion of every deployment. Keep independent copies of your source code and important data.

Your account and agent

Keep your sign-in account and agent connections secure. Review the permissions you grant and the code and actions your agent proposes. An authorized agent can act within those permissions, including publishing apps. You remain responsible for activity you authorize and should revoke connections you no longer trust. Contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.

Your content

You retain your rights in your code and other uploaded content. You grant Skratchpad and the service providers involved permission to store, copy, transmit, build, and host that content only as needed to provide your requested service, maintain security, and comply with law. You must have the rights and permissions needed to upload, process, and publish it. Do not include secrets or confidential information in content that will become public.

Acceptable use

Do not use Skratchpad for unlawful activity, phishing, malware, infringement, harassment, or unauthorized access. Do not bypass permissions, security protections, deployment limits, or provider restrictions. Do not use the service to expose other people’s personal information without a lawful basis. We may limit or suspend activity reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, address misuse, or meet hosting-provider requirements. Where practical, we will explain the reason and how to contact us about it.

Providers, claims, and costs

Deployments depend on third-party providers and their applicable rules. A claim is available only where supported and permitted by the provider; it may require a provider account and acceptance of that provider’s terms. After claiming, you are responsible for managing the resource and any charges under your provider agreement. Skratchpad currently does not charge a platform subscription fee. We will disclose any future Skratchpad charges and obtain your agreement before charging you. This does not cover charges from providers or agents you use independently.

Storage and ending use

Source uploads are temporary: they expire after seven days, with a storage cleanup fallback after eight days. Deployment lifetimes are separate and depend on the hosting provider and applicable service limits. You may stop using Skratchpad, revoke your agents, or request account closure by emailing us. Closing a Skratchpad account does not automatically delete resources you have claimed into another provider account. We may discontinue features or the service; where practical, we will give notice and an opportunity to retrieve or claim your resources.

Responsibility and your legal rights

You are responsible for reviewing what you publish and for the operation and content of your deployed apps. We will use reasonable care in operating Skratchpad, but cannot control failures or changes in third-party services. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, or limits mandatory consumer rights. These terms are governed by Norwegian law, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections available under the law of their country of residence. Please contact us first to try to resolve a dispute.

Privacy and changes

Our Privacy Policy explains how we process personal information. We may update these terms as the service develops. Material changes will be communicated through the service or your account email as appropriate, with advance notice where reasonably possible. Changes will not retroactively alter rights you already have.
